Preview

When will you move out of preview?

We want to get things right, and like any project sometimes that takes times. Our main goal is ensuring that our users are happy with current workflows and features.
We've made all the moves, know the beta and we're on track to meet our target of this year (2024)

Whats not working during the preview?

While we're in preview, guide publishing is disabled. This means any guides you create will only be visible to you. and you will not receive any payouts (because users will not be able to see your guide).

We want your feedback, and we want to make sure we get things right. This is why we're limiting functionality during the preview

Will my guides be available when preview ends?

Absolutely!
Your data is safe, backed up and secure. Everything will function exactly the same as it is now, but you'll be eligible to publish your guide to our entire community

Monetization

How do I earn money from my guide?

Your guide must be published and meet our requirements
Payouts are calculated based on active member subscriptions per month
15% of a users monthly subscription is split evenly between the guides they use per month
5% of a users monthly subscription is split evenly between not for profits per month

What are the requirements for guide publishing?

We want to give the best experience to all our users, this means keeping guides to a certain level of quality.

Minimum 50 routes
90% of routes must be linked to an image (have a topo)
Minimum 3 Ethos sections

Have a use case that doesnt meet these requirements? Let us know what you're thinking. Exceptions can be made where appropriate.

Is my money safe?

We do not store or process any banking details on our site.

We partner with Stripe to handle all our payment processing and subscriptions

What countries are elligble for payouts?

We're currently only operational in North America (Canada and the US).
Our goal is to be global and we will be continually expanding to other countries. If you're located in a country we do not currently operate in, please reach out.

Copyright and Licensing

Can I add an existing printed guide?

Providing you're the author and hold the current copyright, then absolutely! We would love to help you share all your hard work on our platform.

If you attempt to copy or replicate an existing guide and you do not hold the copyright, we will not publish the guide and you will be removed from the platform.
Copyright infringment is serious and we want to respect all the hard work and dedication existing authors have put into creating printed guides

Do I retain the copyright for my work?

Yes!
Codex Kit essentially licenses the use of your work so we can distribute it on our platform. You retain all existing copyright on your work and can withdraw your guide from our platform at any point in time

Someone has published my guide on your site!

Please contact us immediately.
We take copyright seriously, as soon as we can validate that there has been an infringment on copyright we will immediately unpublish the guide from our site until the infringment is resolved
